Outline of Research at the Start

八重山諸方言（主に沖縄県八重山郡竹富町黒島方言）に関して、談話資料データベースの構築を行う。データベースには日本語訳、逐語訳を付す。
また、談話資料データベースを用いた研究を行う。具体的には、形容詞の変異に関するものと、焦点助詞に関するものを行う。たとえば、係り結びが八重山諸方言では見られるが、係助詞が1つの文に複数回生じることや、いわゆる結びの流れも頻繁に観察される。このような現象は話者に意識されにくく、面接調査でその実態を把握することは困難であるため、談話資料を用いてこそ実態に迫ることができる。
