Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
This study investigated why people who do not identify with the gender assigned to them at birth end up in poverty and how social welfare services are provided to them. The research methods included two approaches. First, in collaboration with certified NPO Moyai and others, interviews were conducted with individuals who identify as gender non-conforming to investigate the challenges they faced. The results of this study have been presented at academic conferences and are currently being compiled into a academic paper. Second, a survey was conducted via mail to welfare offices in major cities and designated cities nationwide to explore how these offices receive and support individuals who identify as gender non-conforming. The results of this survey are currently under analysis.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
