Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the present study, we developed a prototype system for conducting online experiments on interpersonal and group behaviour by employing a conversational agent capable of collaborating with human participants and leveraging tasks drawn from cognitive and social psychology. Using this system, we empirically examined the impact of agent utterances on both linguistic alignment and decision making shifts in an online setting, the effect of a newcomer's presentation of alternative perspectives during group problem solving, the influence of a minority member's perspective taking on group decision making, and the biasing role of group members' probabilistic language expressions in collective decision processes.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
