Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では，基課題「地下水が沿岸環境の多様性形成に及ぼす影響の評価：藻場生態系サービスの保全に向けて」を更に発展させるため，1)林 正貴教授（カルガリー大学）と藻場分布域での海底湧水の詳細な動態解明を行い，2)Adina Paytan教授（カリフォルニア大学）と藻場生態系の栄養塩・炭素循環に及ぼす海底湧水の影響を明らかにし，3)Ricardo Hirata教授（サンパウロ大学）と藻場生態系サービスに及ぼす地下水ガバナンスの影響を評価する．
本研究は，地下水環境学と沿岸生態学の融合と深化に寄与し，地下水が沿岸生態系サービスに果たす役割の定量化，ひいては沿岸環境の保全や健全化への貢献が期待できる．
