Research Abstract |
In this research, a world-first Telugu-Japanese dictionary, which contains about 6,000 entry words, is compiled. Telugu language is the third largest in India and the first among the Dravidian family of languages. Fieldworks were conducted in India and also other places like the Southeast Asia where Telugu migrants reside, that was instrumental to selection of entry words, specification of words' usage, and composition of examples. This dictionary is to help any Japanese students to learn Telugu on thier own by using in combination with my earlier publication of grammar book, Basic Course of Modern Telugu (Daigalu Shorin, 2010).
