Research Abstract |
In-situ internal dose evaluation has been studied for strontium accumulated in bone by beta counts on teeth. This research is based on the way developed from investigation in the representative's former nuclear hazard area of foreign countries. Front tooth beta-ray measurement has been carried out not only for Japanese but also for foreigners in Japan. The results were explained to each subject at the place. All the members were below the detection limit for this result. Three kinds of explanation material were made so that the dose of the radiation exposure and healthy influence might be easy to understand for the general public. A book of "Lessons of radiation protection from nuclear developments in the former USSR" has been published. The representative performed some seminars domestic and abroad by using these materials. Internal in-situ dosimetry studies have been carried out for Fukushima nuclear accident since April 2011. This revealed low doses for Fukushima public effectively and has been published as a book "Fukushima Myth and Reality".
