Research Abstract |
I could investigated a lot of rare books of medieval tales in Japan and foreign countries, and performed bibliographical researches in order to obtain a number of documents and materials. I have considered the relationship between the texts and illustrations of medieval tales. I was able to reprint and bibliographical introduction such as "Kibune no Honji" in Leiden Ethnographic Museum collection. I have considered the relationship between the medieval tales and the narratives of the "Tanabata", "Hagoromo" and so on. I have considered the law on marriage of humans and animals in Japanese literature. By using the theory of code which was provided by Kuroda Hideo, I analyzed the code of "Tooyama" in the medieval tales which were published by Shibukawa seiemon. I have considered why the foreign countries have possessed many documents and rare books of Japanese medieval tales.
