| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the developmental policy of the Far Eastern region of Russia and the development of cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries. The development of Vladivostok toward the APEC summit was achieved by a significant increase of the fund and the improvement of the implementation structure despite of the negative influence of the financial crisis. In the area of energy, the cooperation with the Asia-Pacific countries was progressed by conducting the projects including the construction of oil-gas pipelines, and the development of regional cooperation framework of energy is expected. On the other hand, many problems have been revealed, including the problem that the development programs dominated by large-scale infrastructure projects would not lead to sustainable and self-sustaining regional development of the region. Since mid-2013, the developmental policy has been progressed under the newly constructed regime and policy direction.
