Research Abstract |
The transcription and data input of the manuscripts of Arthur Condorcet O' Connor, which have been kept in Chateau du Bignon(Loiret, France), was completed by the archival work of this research project. Besides, the theoretical research cleared up obscurities and problems in the hitherto usages of the principal analytical categories which have been employed by research into eighteenth-century British social thought, by redefinition of the analytical category "radicalism". This "radicalism" consists in the substitution of the vocabulary of utility for that of jurisprudence, which is typical of the thoughts of Thomas Paine and Arthur O' Connor.
