Research Abstract |
We carry out fully-relativistic first-principles calculations of Bi nanoribbons on Bi films. As a result, we find the electronic bands originating from the edge and predict novel transport properties of this system. We also study the Rashba effect on the 1-bilayer Bi film on some substrates and find vortexes around theΓand K points.
