Research Abstract |
We have found the over expression of Chi3l1 in epidermis of the newly identified atopic dermatitis model mouse before the onset of disease. Overexpression of Chi3l1 transgene in epidermis resulted in skin barrier permeability destruction and ichthyosis vulgaris like appearance, In addition, in conventional condition, the AD model mouse showed similar appearance and tight junction protein expression was down-regulated. These findings indicated Chi3l1 protein play a role in skin barrier formation.
