Research Abstract |
A survey for Russian modernist and avant-gardes "directors' Theatre" was done for the purpose of the verification of the "theatrical" structure of modernist arts proposed by a Russian modernist writer S.D.Krzhizhanovsky. Different archives researched mainly in Moscow and St. Petersburg to study relationships between the theatre arts and the other art genres in modernist ages. As a result of these studies, papers and articles were published and were organized two exhibitions Theatre and Life of Meyerhold and Modernism and Avant-Gardes in Russian Theatre, displayed the newly sorted and explicated materials from the collections of The Tsubouchi memorial Theatre Museum. These materials were also published in the catalogues of both exhibitions.
