| Research Abstract |
This research project aimed at pointing out the theoretical core of the French 18th Century's naturalist The Baron of Buffon, who was famous for his great work of Natural History. Through the survey of the first parts of his General and Particular Natural Histories, it was found that there existed the analogical order of his thinking, which enabled him to explain at once generation of animals and the formation of the development of human thoughts. This internal consistency between his discoveries on natural study and his rhetorical ideas written in Treatise on Style would be marked as a main feature of his thinking.
