Research Abstract |
This research examines the significances of policies and social capital for the re-formation process of the vocational career severed by military service duty, regarding it as a form of transition in prewar and postwar Japan. Analysis of exploitation policies and life-history interviews in the clearances show the social capital such as a human network and cooperation based on common experiences in an army and the Manchuria exploitation played an important role for transition in social changes in postwar Japan.
