Research Abstract |
We constructed analytic solutions of open string field theory using boundary condition changing operators in boundary conformal field theory and extended the solutions to open superstring field theory. Although our construction is limited to the case where the boundary condition changing operators satisfy some regularity conditions, it can be a promising approach to the important problem of whether string theories around different backgrounds can be described by a universal set of degrees of freedom. We also took a first step to the quantization of open superstring field theory by studying gauge fixing conditions of the free theory in detail and by deriving associated propagators.
