Research Abstract |
Physiological functions of adiponectin in hepatic lipid and glucose metabolisms of chickens were observed in this study. In newly-hatched chick, blood adiponectin levels and hepatic mRNA expressions of fatty acid synthesis and glycolysis related-factors were high at 1-day-old chick compared to other ages. Moreover, adiponectin reduced hepatic mRNA expressions of fatty acid synthesis and glycolysis related-factors in chicken livers.
