| Research Abstract |
For the diagnosis of narcolepsy, CSF orexin measurement is performed. However, the lumber puncture to obtain CSF is invasive procedure for many patients. It would be great benefit for them that orexin from plasma or unine could be measured for diagnosis. We tried the measurement for orexin from urine (extraction from 50ml) and plasma (10-20 times higher amount of sample dose). We could get some results by these procedure, however, the data seemed not to be real orexin levels. It would be the results of measurements for other similar substances. Further experimental study should be needed using higher sensitive antibody for orexin.
