| Outline of Research at the Start |
1970年代は多極化の時代といわれ、米ソ優越の時代にとってかわるべき国際秩序の変動期にあった。そのなかで政治、経済を中心に戦略面でも新たな国際秩序の模索がなされ、サミット、三極委員会の創設、GATT東京ラウンドの締結などの制度化がなされた。このプロセスは従来、米欧関係に注目して研究されてきたが、日米、日欧関係を中心に、日米欧というそれぞれの地域を対象にした専門家が協同して、日米欧関係を総合的視野から一次史料に基づき検討するのが本研究である。秩序変動期にある現代を展望する上での参照軸、意義申し立ての見られる現代の経済的グローバル化の淵源などの点で現代を展望する意義を持った学術的考察でもある。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We held a few workshops each year. In January 2023, we could have an opportunity to have an international conference by inviting American and French experts. We are working for the publication of a co-authored book on Japan-Europe-US trilateral relations in the 1970s.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
学術的意義は、1970年代の日米欧関係を従来よりもより包括的に検討したことである。米欧関係は伝統的に国内外で検討されてきた研究テーマであるが、本研究では、日米欧関係の総合的視野からの研究をめざし、日欧関係史と日米関係史の接合を試みた。
社会的意義としては、現代の経済的グローバル化の起源への国際社会の対応を扱う本研究は、グローバル化への異議申し立てが身られる現在の世界をよりよく理解し、今後の世界を展望するための一つの見方を提供しうることである。
