| Outline of Research at the Start |
本申請課題では，批判的ウェブ検索において重要である多様な情報獲得に焦点を定める．ユーザが閲覧している情報とは矛盾する情報，別の観点からの情報，ユーザとは異なるコミュニティがよく閲覧する情報，といった情報を多様情報と定義し，多様情報を自動的にマイニングし，その存在をユーザに気づかせ，そして獲得を促す研究を進めるための基盤構築を行う．

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, we aimed to develop a system that enables users to make decisions by interacting with diverse information rather than relying on biased information. The main research outcomes include: (1) investigating the types of web pages people find useful regarding controversial topics and how these pages affect people's opinion formation; (2) developing a technique to detect implicit assumptions underlying user search queries; and (3) revealing the timing of aspect suggestion to encourage diverse information acquisition in spoken conversational search.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
フェイクニュースやフィルタバブルといった言葉に代表されるように，ウェブ上の情報の信頼性や偏りは大きな社会的問題となっている．そのような状況のなか，本研究で取り組んだウェブ検索を通じた意思決定のプロセスの解明，暗黙的仮定の検出，音声会話型検索における観点推薦タイミングの検証などは人々が多様な情報に基づいて意思決定を行うことができる仕組みの実現に繋がる．
