Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this project is to build a library of functioning that systematically consolidates the needs of users of assistive technologies and to realise accurate needs analysis, with the aim of quickly making rapidly evolving technology useful for persons with disabilities and older adults. The development of assistive technologies for persons with physical disabilities and information support devices for older adults with mild cognitive impairment and schizophrenia was targeted, and the needs of users were identified, and a library and needs analysis tools were constructed based on these needs. The results of the application of the created functioning library to the development and evaluation process of assistive technologies suggested that reflecting the needs of the persons involved, which exist across all aspects of their lives, makes it possible to develop assistive technologies that cannot be realised solely on the basis of the needs of the caregivers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
