2010年代に世界経済が低成長段階に入り、社会紛争が亢進する中で、各国の政党システムと政治が不安定化する例が増えている。一方、安定化したり、安定的な状態を維持している国もある。本研究の目的は、そうした政党システムの安定性／不安定性の原因を明らかにし、不安定化傾向を克服する条件や過程を究明することにある。中南米（ラテンアメリカ）の政党システム変動状況の典型例であるアルゼンチン、ブラジル、コロンビア、メキシコ、ペルー、ウルグアイの6ヶ国を比較分析し、事例間の共通性と相違点を考察する。そして、地域内外の他の例と比較し、事例分析結果の一般化を探究する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Amid the backdrop of a sluggish global economy during the 2010s, social unrest has intensified across various regions of the world, leading to a growing number of cases in which party systems have deteriorated and political instability has increased. This study investigates six countries in Latin America--considered representative cases of this phenomenon--in order to identify the causes of party system destabilization and to explore potential strategies for overcoming it. The research finds that, in addition to longstanding challenges related to socioeconomic development and corruption, the rise in general and organized crime has also contributed to this instability. Moreover, the presence or absence of substantive policy debate among major political parties concerning these issues plays a critical role in either mitigating or exacerbating instability.

本研究は、政党をめぐる政治過程の動態を分析し比較するという独自の視角と課題設定から、世界で政党が不安定化する例が増加した2010年代ならびにコロナ禍を経て政党政治が厳しい状況に直面している問題の解明に実証的に取り組んだ。その過程では、現地の研究者・研究機関との協力関係を拡充し、また国際会議での報告やスペイン語などでの専門書・論文の刊行を行うことで、現地での学術的な議論に積極的に関わり、内外での研究の発展に貢献した。
