Outline of Research at the Start |
The outline of the project is given below: 1. Selection and synthesis of parent MOFs for water adsorption 2. Modification of MOFs (metal doping, ligand modification, addition of functional groups). 3. Validate simulation results using the experimental data obtained from surface energy and TGA analysis.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The project aimed to develop guidelines for creating an ultra-efficient hybrid adsorbent material for adsorption heat pumps. This was achieved by analyzing various physicochemical activities of different metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). MOFs are a type of porous material made up of metal ions or clusters connected by organic ligands, and they have shown potential for use in various applications such as gas storage, separation, and catalysis. During the research time frame, several MOFs were synthesized and characterized their properties for use in adsorption heat pumps. Adsorption heat pumps work by adsorbing (or collecting) heat from one source and releasing it in another location when the adsorbent material is desorbed (or released). This process can be used for heating or cooling purposes. The results of the studies were published in reputed peer-reviewed international journals, indicating that the research was subject to rigorous scrutiny and met certain standards for scientific research. Overall, the project aimed to contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable heating and cooling technologies by creating a new and effective adsorbent material for use in adsorption heat pumps.
