| Outline of Research at the Start |
近世後期に複数作成された物語目録のうち黒川春村による『古物語類字鈔』を主たる研究対象とし、同書と春村前後の物語研究とを比較検討することにより、【Ⅰ．近世後期における中世王朝物語研究の実態】と【Ⅱ．Ⅰの明治期における国文学研究への継承・展開】について明らかにする。物語目録は和学者たちのネットワークの中で情報を共有しながら徐々に拡充された。目録における個々の物語に関する記載と、各物語伝本の書き入れや注釈から得られる情報等を照らし合わせ、上記Ⅰについて解明する。また明治期における『古物語類字鈔』の書写・所持・参照を手掛かりとして、その関与者および周辺人物による物語研究を確認し、Ⅱへと研究を展開する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
By comparing and contrasting the Kurokawa Harumura's Hurumonogatari Rujisyo, one of several monogatari catalogues compiled in the late modern period, with monogatari research conducted before and after Harumura, we investigated (1) the actual state of ChuseiOchoMonogatari research in the late modern period and (2) the succession and development of (1) into national literature research in the Meiji period. In addition, in the course of carrying out the research project, we discovered materials related to Kumogakure Rokujo and Iwashimizu Monogatari that had not yet been introduced to the academic world, and analysed the specific aspects of their enjoyment in the early modern period.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
中世王朝物語は、近年の文学研究において注目を集めているジャンルのひとつである。しかし、これらの物語がどのように読まれ、研究されてきたのかは、十分に解明されていない。これに対し本研究は、江戸時代後期の学者・黒川春村が執筆した研究書を軸として、江戸時代から明治時代にかけての中世王朝物語研究の実態を明らかにした。同じ物語であっても、時代・社会背景の違いにより、研究の目的は異なる。物語研究の差異を分析することにより、江戸と明治の社会的相違点に迫りうるのである。
