Outline of Research at the Start

セリ科植物やウコギ科植物は、植物成分としては特異な化合物群であるポリアセチレン化合物を産生することが知られている。我々は、セリ科野菜やウコギ科山菜に含まれるポリアセチレン化合物の糖代謝に関わる健康機能性の一部を明らかにしてきたが、作用機構の全容は未知のままである。本研究は、食材由来のポリアセチレン化合物の肝細胞におけるエネルギー代謝制御機構に対する作用機序の分子メカニズムを明らかにすることを目的とする。本研究により、セリ科・ウコギ科食材の新たな機能性素材としての有用性の実証、及び生活習慣病の病態形成機構における基盤研究に繋がるものと期待される。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The polyacetylene compounds falcarindiol contained in Apiaceae vegetables and Araliaceae edible wild plants are known to have antibacterial activity and anticancer effect. In this study, analysis using hepatoma cell line suggested that inhibit gluconeogenesis by affecting the phosphorylation state of protein kinases involved in the insulin signaling pathway and intracellular energy sensors. This result is basic research into functional food substances that regulate pathological conditions involving increased gluconeogenesis, and is also expected to be applied to disease prevention.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、セリ科野菜やウコギ科山菜等に含まれるポリアセチレン化合物のインスリンシグナル伝達経路や細胞内エネルギーセンサーに対する作用機序の一部を明らかにした。本成果は、falcarindiol類の食品機能性物質としての科学的根拠の一部を提供すると共に、肝細胞におけるエネルギー代謝調節機構の分子メカニズムの解明と生活習慣病の新たな改善法の確立に寄与するものである。また、日常的に摂取する機会の多いセリ科野菜の食品機能性素材としての新たな有用性を示唆するものであり、ウド等のウコギ科植物の薬用植物資源としての有効活用が期待される。
