本研究では、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で引き起こされるさまざまな経済的・社会的影響など複雑な状況にある「コロナ禍」により困難を抱えている夫婦の家族形成の実態を明らかにし、声を上げにくい夫婦の家族形成を中心とした社会的課題を同定する。
新型コロナウイルス感染症の対策や政策の社会的インパクトを評価し、国際比較による日本社会が抱える家族形成（出産前段階におけるパートナーシップ形成）の課題を出発点としつつ、国際的な発信を念頭に置いた具体的な対応方策の創出を目的とする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examines how the rapid social changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic affected family formation among couples, using two analytical approaches.
First, an international comparative survey analyzed responses from men and women aged 20 to 49 in Japan, Germany, and Finland to understand the pandemic's impact on family formation across different countries. The findings revealed challenges in existing support systems and identified areas where policy interventions could better support family formation during crises.
Second, a couple-focused online survey targeted childless married couples aged 20 to 49 to investigate how the pandemic influenced their family planning. Data on health and socioeconomic status, especially employment, were collected. Comparative analysis of 2020 data allowed assessment of changes in social factors affecting family formation over time.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、新型コロナウイルス感染症による社会的混乱が夫婦の家族形成を多面的に困難にした実態を明らかにした点で学術的意義がある。夫婦調査では不妊治療の中断や経済的不安、就労と治療の両立困難、社会的孤立の深刻化など、家族形成を阻む具体的要因を可視化した。2020年調査と比較をし、新型コロナウイルス感染症の家族形成への影響を明らかにした。３か国の国際比較調査により支援制度や社会的価値観の違いが浮き彫りとなり、コロナ禍が出生意欲やパートナーシップ形成に与えた影響が国を超えて広がっていることが示唆された。これらの知見は、今後の家族形成を支援する社会政策の制度設計に資する重要な実証的基盤を提供している。
