| Outline of Research at the Start |
部活動問題を契機として、部活動とサークル活動のあり方が問われている。本研究は、青年期における部活動とサークル活動の教育的意義についての学説史的研究及び調査研究とともに、なぜ部活動とサークル活動が公教育として正当な位置づけを与えられなかったのかについての教育制度史的研究を通して、青年期における部活動とサークル活動への条件整備を確立する上での理論的根拠を解明しようとするものである。
本研究の成果として、青年期における学習権保障体系の一環に課外のスポーツ・文化活動を明確に位置づける上で必要な知見の発展に活かされることが期待される。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results in this study can be summarized as follows.
First, school extracurricular activities and student circle activities in adolescence are considered helpful for students to use what they learn in school in their daily lives. These activities also play a role in making school education better. Second, while studies of education point out that it is important to improve both teachers’ working conditions and students’ right to learn at the same time, the adjustment and establishment of the various conditions for these activities are still not well developed. Third, the research in this study shows that these activities help students connect school lessons to real life and support the development of students' ability for self-government.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究を通して、青年期の課外のスポーツ・文化活動の権利の保障に向けた部活動・サークル活動の条件整備を進める上で欠かせない、青年期における部活動とサークル活動の教育的意義をめぐる論点がおおむね明らかになったと考えられる。また、調査研究を通して、部活動とサークル活動の教育的意義の概要が明らかになりつつあると考えられる。以上を通して、公教育としての課外活動を整備するための理論的論点が明らかになったと考えられる。
