近世(江戸時代)後期の女性文学者・日尾邦子について研究する。
邦子は優れた歌人(和歌作者)であるが、漢学者・日尾荊山の妻として漢学の素養を持っていたと考えられる。また、紀行文や随筆を執筆した和文作者でもあった。
邦子について、「①伝記および学問体系を示す」「②未翻刻の作品について翻刻と内容を把握する」「③邦子の和文の特徴、執筆手法を明らかにする」、以上三点を目的として研究を進める。
方法としては、まず邦子の伝記をまとめ、その学問体系や思想を明らかにする。そして、『花月園謾筆』(随筆)、『江の島紀行』(紀行)を中心に翻刻と内容の分析を行う。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
‘Enoshima Kamakura Hio, there is a waka poem that she composed on the spot after immediately understanding an impromptu Chinese poem. This demonstrates not only her poetic abilities but also her grounding in classical Chinese studies. The above content was pointed out and published in a paper titled ‘Kuniko Hio’s Enoshima Kamakura Kikou.’ (Kokubun Mejiro, Issue 61, Pages 60-69, February 2022)
I also conducted research on the same author’s work, ‘kagetuen Manpitu.’ It became clear that Kuniko Hio’s interests extended to ‘Kago’ (poetic words), and the book possesses elements of a treatise on the art of poetry. These findings were published in a paper titled ‘A Study of Kuniko Hiho’s 'Kagetuen Manpitu.’ (Kokubun Mejiro, Issue 63, February 2024)

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
日尾邦子は漢学の素養を持ち、散文の執筆を行っている(『江島鎌倉紀行』、『花月園漫筆』)。いままで、邦子は教育者として、あるいは歌人としての面に注目されて、執筆活動については知られていなかった。
近世の女性文学者については、未だその実態が明らかになっていない。しかしながら、数多く存在し、その著作も多く残されている。解明されない理由は、出版文化が隆盛した近世において、女性の作品は写本により流通し、限られた範囲でしか読まれていないためである。注目されていない現存する女性文学者の著作を翻刻・研究することは、文学史的意義がある。
