Outline of Research at the Start

古典的な拡散方程式に対してはフーリエ解析などの手法を用いて解を具体的に表現することができるが,非線形性を伴う偏微分方程式に対してそれは難しい.特に拡散係数が定数ではない非線形拡散を記述する方程式は,その主要部が非線形化されるため線形方程式に対する摂動問題の範疇では扱うことができず本質的に新しい接近法が必要となるため,世界中で大きな注目を集めている.この研究課題は,そのような非線形拡散方程式に対して解の性質や挙動を定量的に解明する国際共同研究である.解の表現が直接的にも近似的にも得られないため,その解析はより間接的なものとなるが,解の定量的な情報を詳細に引き出すことのできる理論を構築する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

以下, (1)-(4)は交付申請書の「9.補助事業期間中の研究実施計画」で挙げた課題に対応する.
(1) 非線形拡散方程式の Cauchy-Dirichlet 問題に対する弱解が漸近形に収束するレートについて Bonforte-Figalli (CPAM 2021) が証明した結果を, 定量的勾配不等式とエネルギー法に基づく新しい手法で証明した. この結果は Bonforte-Figalli の結果に別証明を与えるだけでなく, 領域の滑らかさに関する仮定を大幅に弱めることができること, また符号変化解への適応性に於いて優位性を有している. さらに最小エネルギーをとる非退化な漸近形の指数安定性や符号変化する漸近形に収束する初期値の構成についても考察した. これらの結果は ARMA 誌から論文として発表された. またこの結果はさまざまな研究集会で発表されたが, 特に 2023.10 にマドリードで Bonforte 氏と共催した 2 つのワークショップでは, 同分野の専門家と関連する問題などについて意見交換するなど, 国際的な展開に繋がっている. Bonforte 氏とはその後, 継続的に情報交換を行っている.
(2) この課題は終了している. 期間中に派生した課題として破壊力学にまつわる準静的発展方程式について考察し, 適切性などの基本的性質や解の漸近挙動に関する結果を得た. この結果は佐藤光汰朗氏との共同研究によるものであり, すでに論文として発表されている. また Schimperna 氏を招聘し, フルシステムへの拡張について方針を立てた.
(3) 非局所非線形拡散方程式に関する研究を進め, 適切性など基本的な結果の整備を行った. Salin 氏との共同研究.
(4) 非線形拡散方程式にまつわる時空均質化問題に関する岡大将氏との共同研究の成果が論文として発表された.

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

反応拡散系に現れる自由境界を伴う進行波ダイナミクスに関する課題は既に完了し, 期間中に派生した追加課題についても成果があがっている. 非線形拡散方程式の漸近形に関する定量的研究では研究計画を立てた当初にあがった課題は概ね解決し, 期間中にあらたな課題が見つかった. そちらに関しても既に予備的な研究が進んでいる. 非局所非線形拡散方程式については基礎理論が確立し, 解の漸近挙動に関する分析を進める準備が整っている. 研究期間は折返し地点にあるが, 予定通りの進捗と言える. 非線形拡散方程式にまつわる時空均質化問題に関する課題も既に完了し, 論文も発表された. このように当初予定されていた研究計画は半分以上が完了しており, 順調に研究が進展しているものと考える. またそれに伴い, 国際的な研究交流や共同研究シーズの開拓も進んでいるが, こちらに関しては予想以上の展開があった. 今後もそれらを伸ばしていくことで, 研究目的の達成が十分に期待できる状況である.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

非局所非線形拡散方程式の研究は 2023 年度末から既に大きく展開しており, 2024 年度中に研究成果が論文として発表できる見込みである. また解の漸近挙動の研究は局所的なケース (すなわち古典的な非線形拡散方程式) を参考に進めることができる他, 非局所性に由来する困難やそれに伴う特異な現象の解明が期待される. また古典的な非線形拡散方程式に関しても, 符号変化する弱解に対する完全な理論の拡張やここまでに得られた収束レートの最適性の証明に向けて, 重要な研究の緒が予備研究の過程で発見されており, 今後, 全面的な解決が期待される. その他, 新たに立ち上がった Schimperna 氏や Bonforte 氏との共同プロジェクトに加えて, 本研究課題の一貫で来日した研究者や研究代表者が訪問した研究者との交流をさらに深め, 新たな共同研究の模索を進めていく. 2024 年度は 9 月にイタリアと日本の合同シンポジウムをイタリアで開催することになっている. 研究分担者や研究協力者と参加し, イタリアを始めとする欧州の研究者と交流を深める予定である. さらに 12 月にはアラブ首長国連邦で開催される大型の国際シンポジウムにてセッションを共催し, 世界中から関連分野の研究者を招聘し, 当該分野の最先端に関する情報交換や研究ネットワークの拡充を図る. その他, 解の漸近挙動の定量的解析や均質化問題の定量的解析などに近年盛んに用いられるようになった偏微分方程式の解の正則性理論の調査や拡張研究に対しても投資し, 将来的に成果が見込めるよう準備を進める. 新型コロナの問題は収束しつつあるが, ロシアのウクライナ侵攻や中東の紛争によって航空運賃をはじめ物価が高騰していることもあり, 国内研究者の海外出張にはまだ制限が強い. 引き続き関連分野の研究者の海外渡航などをサポートしていきたい.
