Research Abstract |
We successfully controlled the spin state of a single-molecule-magnet by changing the conformation of the molecule. The molecule of bis(phthalocyaninato) terbium(III) complex (TbPc_2)) is composed of two phthalocyanine (Pc) ligand sandwiching a Tb metal atom. We rotated therelative angle between two Pc's and switched the spin of the ligand on/off.
