Research Abstract |
In this study, we conducted environmental radioactivity survey, diet survey and prevalence survey, to investigate the health effect on residents who are forced to live in contaminated area by political and economical reasons. The result suggests that the ambient dose rate, estimated by soil pollution, was to be 5-350μSv/h at the time of Chernobyl nuclear accident. The main routes of internal exposure of residents were milk, mushrooms and berries, and even breads are proved to be of these although the contributing rate was small. Additionally, we proved that the prevalence ofanemia in pregnant woman is related to the soil contamination level, and where the contamination level is high, the prevalence is also significantly high.
