Research Abstract |
I have studied the correlation between the Setouti area and the south area of Shikoku Island in the late Kofun period by the analysis of the passage graves. I excavated Myouken no.1 tumulus in Kochi pref. and made surveys of other three tumuli in Kochi and made reports of them. Many elemtens of passage graves were not brought to the south area of Sikoku Island at the same time. A passage grave was introduced for the first time in the early 6thcentury. Then the infomation of a passage grave had been brought from the Setouchi area three times.
