Research Abstract |
Clara Matsuno was the first kindergarten teacher in Japan. For a while it was believed that she only came to Japan to marry Hazama Matsuno, and that her connection with Japanese kindergartens only started later. But in my research I found out that Hazama had known that the Japanese Ministry of Education had a plan to start a new kindergarten, and that he encouraged her to get a kindergarten teacher’s license while she was still in Germany.
