Research Abstract |
Polyester vascular grafts coated with silk fibroin or gelatin were implanted in the abdominal aorta and common carotid arteries of dogs. In contrast to gelatin-coated grafts, silk fibroin-coated grafts had less collagenous intimal layer with endothelial-like cells. These findings suggest that silk fibroin-coated graft might provide excellent patency of small-diameter vascular graft.
