Research Abstract |
The purpose of the study is to verify the effect of the doll therapy on BPSD of the elderly through participant observation. As a result, the doll therapy reduced the degree of frustration of the elderly. It is assumed that the therapy helps the elderly to recall the past. Also, the doll can create a virtual world in which the elderly can express their feelings. With the doll, the elderly also become voluntary. The effective implementation of the doll therapy emphasizes4 processes: 1) the elderly must choose a doll, 2) health care professionals or workers should preserve their dignity providing a doll, 3) the eyes of a doll should be located straight at the eyes of the elderly, and 4) a doll should be used as a tool of the therapy.
