Research Abstract |
In this study, we monitored intracellular ATP dynamics during apoptosis by using a newly developed caspase-resistant fluorescent ATP biosensor. We found that intracellular ATP level starts to decrease after the activation of caspase 3, and identified a molecule that is involved in declination of ATP. Moreover, we elucidated that intracellular ATP level regulates plasma membrane blebbing of apoptotic cells.
