Research Abstract |
Haruo Sato attracts attention from the situation of the "Asian literature" study in late years, but it is still hard to overview his entire image because of the lack of fundamental researches. For sharing information in the stage of the international study, it is urgent business to organize primary materials. Therefore, in this study, by making transcripts of his letters and notebooks which had not been investigated, and by making detailed commentary on his travel writings of Asia, I conducted the research on the origin of his Asia understanding and his identity formation as a literary person.
