Research Abstract

In this research project I have conducted a survey on Kashubian syntax in the framework of functional grammar theory with special attention to such semantic-grammatical categories as passivity, resultativity, existentiality, possessivity, instrumentality and comitativeness. From these categories I also succeeded in extracting constructions of German and Polish origins (calques) and analyzed their degree of grammaticalization from both synchronic and diachronic perspectives.
