Research Abstract |
This research project examines US policy toward Western Europe under the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, focusing on economic issues and their interactions with political/security issues. Due to European disagreement over integration, economic, especially trade, problems did not advance very much. However, this project reveals that establishment of US political/security policy was conducted with close attention to European debates over economic integration
