Research Abstract

This study aimed to develop a direct numerical simulation method to systematicallytreat submicron- to micron-sized particles. This method was based on a body-force-typeimmersed boundary method. The inward slip distance assumed between the virtualand actual interfaces resulted in the slip flow effect and a solid volume fraction wascalculated using the virtual interface. In addition, I developed an algorithm thatcalculates random motion and aggregation by Brownian force and clarified theinfluence of physical conditions such as temperature and boundary conditions on theaggregation shape and formation process by using the Brownian dynamics simulation code
