Research Abstract |
Girls tend to dislike science rapidly in junior high school, and become reluctant to study science. In particular, they are weak in the' mechanics' and' electricity' of science. In this study, I made teaching strategies and materials in their contents in order to encourage girls to learn science, and I investigated the effect of practice. As a result, the following three approaches based on girls' interests and experience were effective. They are' Human body approach'-linking physical science to the human body-,' Cooking approach'-linking physical science learning to cooking-,' Aesthetic approach'-bringing aesthetic appreciation into science-. In addition, to organize a group for girls that can perform cooperative problem-solving activities was able to support science learning for girls.
