Research Abstract |
This research examines interactions between urban poors and their supporters in postwar Japan. In particular, it focuses on interactions between homeless people and local residents in contemporary Japan. It argues that asylum spaces which include/exclude urban poors would not be achieved only through their institutionalization. Rather, such spaces are maintained through everyday practices among actors involved.
