本研究は、日本におけるフランス文化の移入に関して、日本人女性がイメージする「パリジェンヌ幻想」がいかに構築され、どのような変遷を経て現在に至ったのかを歴史的かつ社会学的に明らかにすることを目的としている。
本研究で重視するのは、戦前（1920-40年代）のフランスの女性雑誌メディアで形成された「パリジェンヌ・イメージ」と戦後日本女性による「パリジェンヌ幻想」との比較である。日仏の比較研究を行うことで、今日に至る日本女性の理想を投影したパリジェンヌ像がいかにして形成されたのかを明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In postwar Japan, this study focuses on two aspects“popularization” and “youthification”as turning points when ordinary women began talking about France, and clarifies the target period. Regarding popularization, the study identifies 1953 as the core period and points out that the boom in sewing schools served as a means for ordinary women to realize their admiration for Parisian fashion.Regarding the trend toward younger audiences, the study reveals that from around the 1970s, there was an increase in foreign-set works in girls' manga magazines, depicting vibrant, affluent lifestyles in contrast to Japanese works. Regarding the image of Parisian women in France, the study notes that this image was constructed through the male gaze from the late 19th century and continued to be utilized as a fantasy for consumption and sexual commodification throughout the first half of the 20th century.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまで日仏文化移入研究に欠けていた大衆文化、女性の視点を取り入れることができた。現在の大衆女性向けメディアで流布するパリジェンヌ幻想がどのように形成されたのか、今回は戦後の大衆化と若年化の画期を特定することができ、現在への直接的なつながりを指摘することができた。また、少女マンガ作品において西洋舞台は裕福さを描き、日本作品には描かれない明るい世界を描く装置となっていた。そのなかで特にフランスはモードを中心とした文化的な国として描かれ、特定の国のナショナルイメージが少女たちに刷り込まれてくという、日本における戦後フランス文化移入の一部を明らかにした。
