| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、19世紀末から20世紀初期に刊行された「明治期朝鮮資料」を用いて、近代日本語の様々な言語的特徴（表記・音韻・文法・語彙・方言）と、黎明期であるがゆえに短期間で生じた言語変化の諸相を実証的に示す。
「明治期朝鮮資料」はとくに口頭語本来の対面的な場面での会話を重点的に収録しているため、近代日本語における口語体の特徴やその成立過程を、国内資料の研究にはない新たな視点から明らかにすることができる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Since many parts of the Korean Materials (朝鮮資料) present original Japanese texts alongside Korean translations in parallel formats, this study employs these materials to examine diachronic changes in Japanese vocabulary and grammar from the early modern period to the modern period through contrastive analysis with the Korean language. By analyzing Meiji-era Korean Materials (明治期朝鮮資料) published between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this research empirically demonstrates linguistic features of modern Japanese -including orthography, phonology, grammar, vocabulary, and dialects- as well as the rapid linguistic changes during its formative stage. Given that the Meiji-era Korean Materials focus on dialogues in face-to-face oral contexts, this study reveals characteristics of spoken language in modern Japanese and its developmental process from a novel perspective not captured by research relying solely on domestic Japanese sources.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
「明治期朝鮮資料」は学界にほとんど知られておらず、公開された文献も十分に調査・研究されていない。そこで本研究では、まず日本国内と海外、特に韓国の各図書館に所蔵されている原本を悉皆調査して書誌学的な整理を行った。そのために、まずオンラインによる予備調査を通して、所蔵を確認しているものを対象に、現地に赴き新たな資料の発掘に努めた。その過程で、原本が確認できたものをリストアップし、出版事項（出版情報、編著者、所蔵場所）や書誌情報を一覧にまとめた。そして、明治時期に広く使われた代表的な文献について、書誌の概要や著者に関する情報などを分析・分類し、近代日本語資料として活用するための基盤整備を行った。
