Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、米穀検査の成果を村落 (行政村)、もしくは郡や検査機関の管轄区（10か村程度の村落グループ）単位のデータを用いて、第１に、米穀検査の実施過程を詳細に検討し、第２に、米穀検査を促進もしくは阻害した地域社会の諸要因を検討する。また、第３に、米穀検査の実施過程と各県からの米穀移出先を併せて分析することで、米穀検査と米の全国市場の展開過程の関係を検討する。さらに、第４に、こうした戦間期日本の米商品の品質向上の取り組みを、19世紀イングランドの穀物品質向上の取り組みと比較する。
