【研究の概要】本研究は戦後日本社会において、どのような様態で教育関係者が教育内容（＝市民として会得すべき知）を創出したのかを明らかにするものである。そのさいに着目するのは、法律や条例、議会政治、公官庁の動向ではなく、個々人の教育実践や教育運動の実相である。社会的事象や社会現実は、法制史や制度史、政治史といったマクロな現実のみによって説明できるものではない。マクロな現実とともに、多様な個々人の「生活」との相互作用によって、「実態」が形成されていくのである。本研究は、その意味で、戦後日本社会における教育運動の社会史を明らかにすることを志向している。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The research activities conducted from 2022 to 2024 aimed to examine the social history of educational practices in postwar Japan. The author primarily investigated how Japanese educators, from the late 1950s to the early 1990s, developed and implemented educational practices both within and outside the public education system.
Previous studies have tended to focus on the history of public education itself. However, this research has revealed how a group of Japanese educators, both inside and outside the public education system, created educational practices based on two key perspectives: scientific rationalism (how to systematically organize and teach science) and criticism of meritocracy (rejecting hierarchical systems based on uniform ability measurements).

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究によって、戦後日本の教育関係者グループによって創出された多様なオルタナティブ教育の実相が明らかになった（ただし、現時点では断面として）。教育関係者たちの創意工夫は、戦後民主主義の理想を実現しようとする、より広範な教育運動の一部であった。彼らの活動は、戦後民主主義の理念を教育実践として具現化しようとする試みでもある。教育政策や教育思想の文脈から、戦後民主主義のあり方を模索する先行研究は多くある。ただ、本研究の場合、それがどのように教育現場（公教育内外を含めて）で具現化されたのかを明らかにするもので、よりミクロレヴェルな、より緻密な戦後民主主義の実相を明らかにすることができた。
