共鳴非弾性軟X線散乱による銅酸化物高温超伝導体における電子分数化の研究

Outline of Research at the Start

銅酸化物高温超伝導体の発見から36年を経て膨大な研究成果が蓄積されてきたが、未だに高温超伝導機構の解明に至っていない。機構解明の鍵を握るのが、超伝導ギャップより遙かに高温から開く擬ギャップの形成機構の解明である。近年、電子の分数化よる擬ギャップ形成機構が理論的に提案され有力視されている。本研究では、世界最高の分解能を持つ台湾放射光施設において共鳴非弾性X線散乱法を用いて、擬ギャップ状態を詳細かつ精密に特定し電子の分数化を検証する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度、Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d(Bi2212)の酸素K吸収端および銅L2,3吸収端における共鳴非弾性X線散乱(RIXS)実験により電子の分数化機構が擬ギャップ形成を説明することを明らかにし、他の擬ギャップ形成機構として提案されている電荷秩序やネマチック秩序では相図全体を(特に、アンダードープ側で擬ギャップの温度領域が広がることを)説明できないことを示した。しかし、オーバードープ側では(特にすべての系に共通して見られるホールドープ量19%の量子臨界点までは)電荷秩序・ネマチック秩序の転移温度が擬ギャップ温度と良く一致するため、電荷秩序と擬ギャップの関係を詳しく調べた。La2-xSrxCuO4(LSCO)の酸素K吸収端RIXS実験を高分解能で行い、量子臨界点の周辺での電荷密度波の揺らぎを詳しく調べた。その結果、動的電荷密度波励起の寿命が量子臨界点に向かって増大するという当初の予想に反した現象を見出したので、電荷密度波揺らぎと超伝導の競合による現象と考えて解析・検討中である。
昨年度導いた銅酸化物高温超伝導体の3バンドモデル(Cu 3d軌道と酸素p軌道を含む現実的なモデル)と1バンドモデル(1バンド ハバードモデル)の関係、特に3バンドモデルにおける超交換相互作用定数と1バンドモデルにおける超交換相互作用の関係が電子ドープ系でも成り立つかどうかを調べるために、ホールドープ型超伝導体Bi2212と電子ドープ型超伝導体Pr1.3-xLa0.7CexCuO4(PLCCO)の両方について共鳴光電子分光実験を行い、銅原子内クーロン相互作用と酸素原子内クーロン相互作用を定量的に見積もった。その結果、電子ドープ系でも、3バンドモデルと1バンドモデルの間にホールドープ系と同様な関係が成り立つことがわかった。

Reason

放射光実験および国内外との共同研究が順調に進行している。実験・解析は予定通りに進んでいるが、論文執筆における共同研究者間の意見調整や、投稿後の査読者とのやり取りに時間がかかっている。国際学会、国内学会での成果発表は、順調に行われている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

RIXSによって明らかになった電荷の分数化機構が、角度分解光電子分光(ARPES)を始めとする他の実験結果も説明するかどうかを調べて行く。ARPESでは超伝導点移転Tc直上でd波超伝導揺らぎに起因する擬ギャップも見られるため、これと電子分数化による擬ギャップがどう関係しているのかを調べる。このために、ARPESスペクトル、RIXSスペクトルの温度依存性、ホールドープ量依存性、物質系依存性を系統的に調べる。高温超伝導発現、擬ギャップ形成と電荷密度波の揺らぎとの関係も、RIXSおよびARPESスペクトルの高分解能測定と詳細な解析によって調べて行く。
