Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
In this study, we developed a novel ball-catching assessment that considers different life stages, focusing on a task commonly impaired in individuals with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). We examined the correlation between the number of successful catches using the developed ball-catching task and traditional assessments employing real objects in both elementary school children and healthy adults. Among children, a weak positive correlation was observed between the developed ball-catching task and the Movement Assessment Battery for Children, Second Edition (MABC-2). In healthy adults, a moderate positive correlation was found between the developed task and the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT-2).

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
