本研究は、東南アジアの国際河川メコン流域諸国が抱える国際的な環境保全と災害対応という今日的な課題の解決に向けて、同地域の鰐伝承をエコクリティシズムの視点から分析、考察するものである。口承、文学、映像作品を分析対象として、人々が地域社会の課題をどのように捉え対応してきたかを明らかにする。
メコン川流域の環境問題をエコクリティシズムという文学の側面から考察し、現在進行形で環境問題に直面している流域国が協同して解決に進むための文化的プラットホームの構築に資する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research examined the environmental issues of the Mekong River basin from the literary perspective of ecocriticism and created a cultural platform that enables basin countries currently facing environmental problems to work together to find solutions.
To clarify how people have perceived and responded to the environmental crises in their local communities, research members conducted film and literature surveys on people and rivers in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, and published a collection of papers.

東南アジアの国際河川メコン流域諸国が抱える国際的な環境保全と災害対応という今日的な課題の解決に向けて、現地の住民との集会を実施し、直面する問題点を論じた。また文化的背景にある口承、文字文学、映像作品を分析対象として、人々が地域社会の課題をどのように捉え対応してきたかを明らかにした。
タイのコンケン大学メコン流域社会多元性研究センターの協力のもと、地域住民および流域諸国の研究者とも協同して今後問題解決に進むためのプラットホームを築くことができた。
