| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では，急激に進むICT関連技術・需要の高まりの影で解決が困難な負の側面となっている，子ども(おおむね18歳未満)が抱える諸問題について，エビデンスに基づく対策を検討し，その社会実装を通じて，子どもに健全なメディア利用を促す支援を行う。本研究は，現在のみならず将来において「賢いメディア・ユーザー」を育てることを目的に，「メディア・エンパワメント」 の強化を目的とした介入プログラムの開発および評価を行う。メディア・エンパワメントとは，子ども自身の考えや感覚によって，メディアの持つ影響力に気づき，メディアに関わる行動を自身で制御できるようにする能力のことである。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to reduce children's impulsiveness toward media, this study aims to promote media empowerment, that is, to make children aware of the influence of media through their own thoughts and feelings, and to help them control their own media-related behavior and developed and evaluated an intervention program. In the first year, we investigated actual cases of media urges among children and how to deal with them, and prepared for intervention practice, including preliminary research. In the following year, we implemented the developed program with multiple elementary school children and verified its effectiveness. In the future, to widely disseminate this program, we aim to develop and popularize card games and “sugoroku”games about controlling impulsivity associated with media, with the intention of having fun while learning.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
メディア利用については，頻発する低年齢の性被害，有害広告による翻弄，ゲーム依存，オンライン利用によるいじめ，詐欺や犯罪への関与・被害，健康阻害，学習阻害など，子どもたちのウェルビーイングを脅かす危険性が増加している。これら否定的な事案が生じている背景には，子どもたちがメディア接触に関わって「自制」や「感情調整」ができていないままに反応してしまうことがあげられる。本研究では，メディアの使用自体に制限や規制を設ける取り締まるアローチや単に危険性を知らせるリテラシー教育ではなく，自己制御能力を高めるアプローチに重点を置き，子どもが現在のみならず将来において成熟した対応ができるように利用したい。
