Outline of Research at the Start

ワクチンの副反応から接種を忌避する問題が浮上している.そこで,ワクチン副反応を予防・治療する免疫調節薬の開発を試みる.マクロライド系薬には,免疫系を正常に維持する調節作用がある.しかし,マクロライドは耐性菌が激増したため,使用制限が課されている.申請者は抗菌作用が低下したマクロライド改変体ライブラリを有している.ライブラリから,抗菌作用が無く免疫調節作用のみを有する改変体を選出する.そして,ワクチン副反応に対する予防・治療効果を検索するさらに,マクロライドが呈する難溶性により,生体での吸収性と移行性が低下する課題を解決するため,ナノバブル化技術を応用する.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

We began experiments based on the research plan described in the application document, and announced the interim results at nine conference presentations. Based on the interim results and discussions of these conference presentations, I have written 8 international academic papers in English, which have been accepted and published. In other words, it is possible to objectively demonstrate with numerical values that the presentation of the results planned in the application record has generally been achieved smoothly. In addition to the above, we are promoting outreach activities based on the results obtained, and we have already conducted free on-site classes at public junior high schools. Additionally, as part of our outreach activities, we have been able to conduct social contribution activities, such as receiving interviews from NHK TV and newspapers, based on the commitments made in our application documents.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

インパクトファクターの付された査読付きの国際学術ジャーナル(Microbiology and Immunology, iScience, Microbiology and Immunology, Cytokine, Diagnostics, Microbiology Spectrum, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Microorganisms, PLOS ONE)に投稿し,10編の英語の国際学術論文の全てが受理され,公表されるに至っている.本研究成果は,学術界や社会に新規知見の供与をもたらした.
